Easy Set
I need a quick, inexpensive (and preferably homemade) way to clean an easy set pool. Suggestions?
We just bought this pool about 2 weeks ago. It’s a small, easy set pool with an inflatable ring around the top. The pool rises along with the amount of water in it. We knew the small filter that came with the pool wouldn’t clean the pool as well as wanted it to (we are clean freaks!). We bought a small pool net to get the leaves out. However, today when I got home, there were a hundred more leaves in the pool. I drained the pool and there is a slimy residue on the bottom of the pool. There are also alot of leaves and small sticks left in the pool. Any suggestions for keeping this pool really clean? We put two chlorine tablets in the filter. This helps with the water smell, which we also need a solution to. JUST HELP US!! 
If there is a slimy residue on the bottom, sounds like you are having an algecide problem. You can buy algecide at any hardware store, or pool store. You’ll probably just need a couple drops to clear it up.
We try to avoid the expense of chemicals in our above ground pool. We use regular bleach in ours, instead of chlorine, and we also put a box of baking soda in once a week to keep the water clear.
