Slime Remover

Treating iron bacteria in the home of the well and tap water
Iron bacteria consume iron to survive and in the process of iron metabolism in a protective slime layer around the cells, which makes them very resistant to removal. Iron bacteria do not cause health problems, but leave a brown silt red or yellow softeners can clog pipes and lack of water and iron filters.
You may notice this brown or rust colored viscous slime appearance in the toilet tank when you remove the lid. In addition to causing problems with plumbing and fitting tightly covered iron bacteria and reducing screens and yields. Iron bacteria can produce odors that may resemble fuel oil, cucumbers, or sewage. These odors can be detected only in the morning or after periods in which water was not used. Iron bacteria can coexist with various species of sulfur bacteria that can emit a smell of rotten eggs.
The treatment of iron bacteria by shock chlorination
Although chlorine is a powerful disinfectant, iron bacteria can build up a thick slime maintaining the disinfectant to penetrate beyond the surface of cells. In addition, iron, manganese and hydrogen sulfide are often present in water may well absorb much of the chlorine before it has a chance to reach the bacterial cells. Because chemical reactions are slower in cool temperatures common in wells, bacterial cells need a long exposure to chlorine or other disinfectants to be effective. Even if chlorine kills all the bacterial cells in water, groundwater may be attracted by pumping or drift back into the well.
Due to these factors, or treatment of an infestation of iron bacteria requires more than simply dumping bleach into the well. The following steps are recommended:
Approximately 8 liters of household bleach 5.25% of chlorine should be mixed with 100 gallons. water. The aim is to prepare a larger amount than the amount of standing water in the well, so far is an estimated 100 liters sure if it is not known. You can mix the water in several trash containers clean.
Pour or pump the solution into the well. Attach a hose to a hose bib or the tap out of place and the other end of the hose into the well. Open the faucet and circulate the water for at least an hour to wash inside the pump casing and piping. The faucets in your home to be opened until it detects a chlorine smell, then close them.
Allow the chlorine solution to remain in the well and piping at least 24 hours before purging the system free of chlorine. If you have a chlorine test kit, make sure there is at least 10 ppm of chlorine left in the water well after 24 hours. If you detect a chlorine residual below 10 ppm, repeat the shock chlorination process all if possible.
Run the chlorinated water outdoors in a field or a ditch, and you can have a negative effect on septic tanks. You can also kill the grass and shrubs, and in no case be executed in a pond or stream.
Well owners may have to repeat this process more than once to remove the entire system of iron bacteria.
Prevent iron bacteria infestation
When a new well is drilled, or when an existing well pump is repaired, the soil containing the bacteria can get into Underground water pipes or pumps that were placed on the floor. Surface water used as well water can also infect the well with bacteria iron.
A poorly constructed or maintained and may be contaminated by surface water leaking into the well. In some cases flooding forced to surface water in the well and cause pollution. Poor maintenance or faulty septic systems, the barn or livestock areas, and other sources of contamination can allow that bacteria containing water to enter the well through cracks in the bedrock.
Despite these sources can cause serious quality problems water could cause illness (such as E. coli bacteria, parasites and viruses) also could be sources of iron bacteria in a well.
Well chlorinators
In many cases, iron bacteria are not killed despite repeated attempts to disinfect the well and plumbing. At this point in a disinfection system permanently and continuously can be employed.
Chlorine is the disinfectant used in water systems of the house as well, but are hydrogen peroxide and Ozone is also very effective against iron bacteria. While production is lost due to iron bacteria and slime buildup of chlorine pellet feeder distributing chlorine tablets in the well may be the best solution.
Disinfection with chlorine, peroxide or ozone injection system is normally installed after the fine, but before the water enters the house pipes to disinfect water from bacteria of iron. A sufficiently large tank to be used so that the water is completely disinfected after injecting the disinfectant.
