Most spas have cartridge filters can be replaced every year or so depending on the Use of the spa. To clean a filter, simply remove the filter from the filter housing agreement with the manufacturer's manual and use a regular garden hose with a bit of pressure restricted or a spray nozzle suitable for cleaning the filter out of the folds. Do not use a pressure washer as this will damage the environment. After clearing all the dirt and debris, simply replace the filter in the spa.
If a filter is very dirty you can also get a cartridge filter overnight cleaning solution and let stand in a bucket so the solution can eat away at the filter pores and produce a clean filter again. For this purpose it is better to have two filters that can be alternated, while one is cleaning. Note that after any cleaning of the filtering solutions require thorough cleaning before being replaced in the spa.

Note: Although most of the cartridge filters are placed in the home without pressure, there is no such thing as a pressure filter. These exchange filters may also involve bleeding air filter system before opening the hatch and, indeed, making sure the pump is not working. Even in non-pressurized filter systems, such as top-loading filters, make sure the pump is off, since it is difficult to remove the suction filter providing system, and is a safety hazard as well.
